Writer found murdered? Whodunit?

Set in 2008, at a writer’s retreat, a group of amateur writers congregate to discuss their writing ideas and to get down to some serious writing. The host, a published author, who organised the event and was there ‘to keep the group focused and fed’, is found murdered. The only people in the building are the nine attendees; one of who must be the killer.  A remote location, no communication links, and lack of transport, mean that they can’t seek outside help. As everyone is a suspect, secrets are revealed as they try to prove their innocence.  

Your challenge is to describe and introduce the characters and to write the plot, in Agatha Christie’s style, everyone could have, but whodunit? … how and why?
