Title:
Weeds look just like Flowers.
We had a dog called Shep who always slept On the floor beside of me He had brownish hair and I didn't care 'bout his lack of pedigree We had about a dozen cats Of every size and kind They helped to keep away the rats Who would have robbed us blind We had vitals on the table Several times a day And our backyard was a mountain top That's where we used to play I didn't know that we were poor 'til the day that I was told 'cus the weeds look just like flowers When you're only five years old.
Much later on I got wed
And we raised a family We grew enough to keep us fed And we lived in harmony Evenings spent upon the porch When everybody smiled We sang the songs that I'd been taught When I was just a child With my woman shining like the moon And the kids like little stars We didn't have a lot of things But what we had was ours And I didn't feel that we were poor With our blessings from above 'cus the weeds look just like flowers When you're with the ones you love No I didn't feel that we were poor With our blessings from above And the weeds still look like flowers When you're with the ones you love.
