Title:
Shot Rabbit
Limp she lies against the ploughed soil Still life with pain and pellet. Flicked and dimpled silent fur Spread and wind raped. A dreamer's warmth leaks down, incontinent. A dropping exudes and steams gently. Birth and burrow Flint and furrow Impaled on the moment She ends. Becomes property. A hand reaches, Snatches A tread scuffs on. Grasses shadow box the wind, Rooks in V formation call A longing for the high empty trees.
