Title:
Silence is Golden
A cruel and often brutal place Filled with mutes called the human race With sneers and a veneer of disgust on their face In a downward spiral freefall from grace This world is harsh, fertilized with tears The streets lined with pain and the air thick with fear The weak are dominated by the strong They speak for right whilst committing their wrongs Silence is golden Ignorance is bliss Can we just stand by while they take the piss? Don’t listen to their lies See through the façade Millions have died in our own back yard They weren’t so different from you or me Your son or your daughter, your bride to be They did nothing wrong, they asked for no strife They were deemed insignificant And it cost them their life While humans stood by, passive and mute Didn’t deride and didn’t dispute A cruel and often brutal place Can only be changed by the human race.
