Be certain of this

my lover,

death

holds us both

in his embrace

and even in our hearts

he hovers

a vulture

waiting in the shadow

and know this too

that when you hold my hand

he holds it too.

Know this for certain

he will take you

or take me

that I fear if

I kiss you

he will kiss me too.

Be certain of this

death

holds us both

in his embrace
