Title:
Wild Strawberries.
Could you see my pride when I said I needed no-one Once there was a time when I was glad to be alone Boasting of my freedom and the ever-open door As my chains banged noisily upon the floor.
I found you when I was tired and needed someone not to talk Like finding a patch of wild strawberries when you're out on a country walk Like finding a patch of wild strawberries when you're out on a country walk.
Hungry, cold and lonesome like a lighthouse in a high sea Searching for your ship of comfort coming through the storm As the waves grew higher, and as I feared to drown Your hand came reaching to be found.
I found you when I was tired and needed someone not to talk Like finding a patch of wild strawberries when you're out on a country walk Like finding a patch of wild strawberries when you're out on a country walk.
The road was hard and stony, I was limping from the journey
Round the bend another turn came clearly into view My weary footsteps stumbled, my failing vision blurred A longing song was all my senses heard.
I found you when I was tired and needed someone not to talk Like finding a patch of wild strawberries when you're out on a country walk Like finding a patch of wild strawberries when you're out on a country walk.
