Title: low winter sun

I'm blinded
by low winter sun
that rakes
the icy field.
I shield my eyes to see
each furrow
stark
in sharp relief
above each new cut
shadow line
so dark,
and peering
as the dazzling light
lifts thinning mist
from lines
of frozen mud,
I see
each one is capped
with silver.
