Just some books?

Some people wrote down things a long time ago,
what we SHOULD do and SHOULD think, and what we should know,
and now all their words are adopted by nations,
but maybe the message was lost in translation.

So many Good books, each a different tongue,
still we let the fanatics take over our young,
we have argued forever, since Adam and Eve,
it all contradicts, but still we believe.

We're right and you're wrong, is what we all say,
but the bloodshed and suffering does not go away,
all for some books, the authors long dead,
so interpret the way that we want to instead.

I see the four horsemen a galloping fast,
I fear for future, I fear for our past,
our civilisation does not have too long,
just one hope remains........................I hope we're all wrong.
