Title: Betrayal of Trust

Unspoken limits set for those who are close
High expectations of those you think of the most
and when they don't deliver what standard was expected
We think less of the people whom we once respected

We hope for the same morals, are our standards too high?
Was I anticipating the truth, did you tell me a lie?
Our story has been shared, by that I was surprised
How easily our relationship could be compromised

Our secrets, our moments, an issue of trust?
When questions are asked about the both of us
You convinced me right then, that I could trust in you
and although I believe, I feel disappointed too

But my ego's been bashed and there's a dent in my pride
and this most certainly hurt me deep down inside
but your reasons were not malicious and so we assume our roles
Unrealistic goals, set for non-perfect souls
