Title:
Number 72
Scrambling for the 72
Pleased to see
you’ve made it too.
Standing room only
Doesn’t matter
Familiar faces
Lots of chatter
Heavy bags
spill on the floor
"Pass yours ‘ere Luv
there’s room for more.
Bagged some bargains?
Good for you.
Spent up now though?
What’ll we do?"
Jolt to a stop
Hiss of the door
More bodies pile on
What a bore
Fat man’s elbows
in my face
A ticket doesn’t
buy you space
Britney’s started
shrieking madly
Neighbouring passengers
taking it badly
Calum’s bored
and hitting his sister
Fists clenched now
Good job he missed her
Tempers fraying
Top deck swaying
Stopping, starting
Young lad farting
Nervous woman
Tries to stand
wilted flowers
in her hand
"Ring the bell Mate
She’s off ‘ere"
Her seats taken
with a cheer
Twenty minutes
still to go
"Doesn’t know
the way, you know
NO! .....he’s got it wrong!!"
Tries reversing
Lots of cursing
Standers tumbling
Lots of grumbling
Shopping flying
Lots of sighing
Such a fuss
Bloody bus
Think I’ll take
the car next time.
