Rebel Rouser .
Let me buy you a drink , tell me what you think ,
struggling to hold your head up , trying not to sink ,
you got problems of the ephemeral kind ,
you need to see a shrink , spill the beans ,
know what I mean , tip the shrink the wink ,
times are hard , you're short on bling ,
you need to get away from here , if you could ,
fly away from everything , sprout wings ;
Maintain a steady course , head due north ,
or point the needle east or west ,
it's up to you , you know best , or do you ?
as the water rises round you , people try to screw you ,
won't look you in the eye , they just eschew you ,
talk behind your back , won't talk directly to you ;
Everybody needs a little plan , a little dream ,
but in my dream I see you scream ,
and you don't know what you're crying about ,
looks like life just locked you out ,
you're drowning in you're own self doubt ,
you need a wake up call , you need to shout
about the things you believe in ,
look at it this way , it's better to stay ,
than give up and think about leaving ,
life is for living , don't capitulate ,
it leaves a bad taste ,
like the aftermath of dark bereavement ,
give yourself another chance , give yourself the treatment ;
Don't listen to what others say , find your own way ,
and if it doesn't work , try again another day ,
get a job and pay the taxes , don't moan about the rate of pay ,
life is just a stupid game that anyone can play ,
but you're in at the deep end , with no trial run ,
so there's no point counting down the days ,
in this game there are no replays ;
What exactly is it that makes you happy ?
lost in that fog of choking apathy ,
don't act dumb , if you don't know , ask me ,
but if you don't speak up I'll never know ,
because I'm no good at telepathy ,
so stop chasing round and running after me ,
stop acting like your life's a no good tragedy ,
like a missile with a bad trajectory ,
you traded you're freedom for a shift at the factory ,
you ran away and you won't come back to me ;
Do you think you should have ?
You won't anyway !
Even if you could have!
