Title: Nap-shots

I’m sitting here thinking of there
that place with blue sky and fresh air
where I might take my holidays
if only they’d up my take-home pay.

Bee line

I’m sitting here restlessly
It’s not where I prefer to be
At least it’s Friday and I’ll soon be free
But there’s no-one home waiting for me

Be mine

I’m sitting here thinking that
I really should buy a cat
Cats are purr-fect company
and that sounds just the thing for me.

Feline

I’m sitting here toying with
the idea that I ought to give
Charity begins at home
but mine’s secured with a loan.

Breadline

I’m sitting here thinking of there
a cruise for the suave and deboniar
where I might take my holidays
if only they’d up my take-home pay.

Devine

I’m sitting here thinking aloud
no wonder that I’ve attracted a crowd
My colleagues eye me warily
They’re thinking that I’m mad, you see.

Fine line
