Title:
The First Ride
Trust me I’m your best friend The smiling woman said Just sit upon the horse dear Val, you won’t fall on your head I climbed aboard the mighty beast My heart was beating fast It whinnied, tossed its head and glared My courage didn’t last We walked a little round the field I clung on best I could Shall we trot? No we shall not, I don’t think that we should. I slithered down from off its back My arms tight round its neck I felt I’d like to kiss the ground, I was a total wreck. I swear I saw a haughty sneer upon the creature’s face, She turned and walked away from me – she’d kept me in my place.
