Title:
The Gauntlet
You tease for a tangle of words You wish for spew and sputum You want your verse uncooked
No chapter No laughter
You bait for disease and despair You will that we all be aware
No corn No form
Bedraggled, bewitched, berated Second guesses contemplated
You seek fire and phlegm You bequest we start again
So help us
You pitch us into the bowels You fawn as we forge our vowels
You throw
Down
A grim gauntlet
