Title: A senior moment

I’m having a ‘Senior Moment’ –

a moment I’d rather forget!

And I’m having that ‘Senior Moment’

to remember some thing – though I bet

that I can’t remember exactly

what it is I don’t want to forget –

not yet.

It’s a devilish little affliction

that descends in the blink of an eye.

The names of friends and relations

maddeningly pass me by.

I can search in my memory for hours,

trawl the alphabet – furious – then try

‘till two o’clock in the morning

to remember which name just went by.

Was it some name that came out of Shakespeare?

Or something from Latin or Greek?

I felt it had lit’ry connections

Its driven me mad all week.

But then I saw bun at the Bakery –

and immediately knew who I’d seen.

It was Bunny with dear Uncle Arthur

What a stupid old silly I’ve been!
