Title:
Angel beside me
Is it me who died, While you moved on? Do I mourn my existence, Whilst you live on?
Are you smiling above, While I grieve below? Your words keep resounding, "Just let me go." While you prayed for the light, I begged, 'one more night.'
Alas, your eyes closed. You drew your last breath.
You began your ascention. I wept, 'please, not yet.' Your cancer killed me, While it gave you the fight. Your funeral numbed me, Whilst you took flight. I love you so much, All I thought of was me. Oh how selfish, Can one person be? Carried from church, To your chosen place. I envisage the look, Upon your sweet face. You're now at peace, Surrounded by beauty. Relieved of all pain, You fulfilled your duty. I ponder when I miss you, 'How can that be?' You're an angel beside me, For eternity......
