Title:
In the shadow of Venus .
Starry night in a dark sky. Anyplace , anywhere . Seeing something long forgotten , no thanks to light pollution . We are diurnal , living in sunlight , not nocturnal , but happily lost in the world at midnight . We have washed out the dark to suit our social interactions , with an electric blush of reflective refractions . We scatter luminosity on a global scale , from overlit cities that bask in the glow of Faraday's zeal . A pan-global nebula of metal halide treasure , cracked , glowing and open . Banishing the shadows of what was once , before , pervasive and dystopian . We have lit up the night , and lost the glory of earthbound Venus shadows . Above Earths hazy ceiling we stab the universe with halogen arrows . And the rhythm of the night is lost in dissolution . Diluted by the nefarious beams of mankinds light pollution . In this self-made glare we are cut off from our evolutionary patrimony . The human circadian rhythm has lost it's harmony . And dear old Sir Patrick Moore must be having an astronomic fit . Bring back the darkness , let's see more of it .
