Title:
Two.
The moon and sun. The two of them. Better than one? Two celestial bodies and seldom the twain shall meet. On a late summer’s afternoon maybe, unnoticed in my street. One hot vital fierce, the other, arbiter of tidal cycles, implacably cold and muse to goth romantics. Same space to inhabit, same ball of rock to look upon. The two of them. Better than one? Separate. Unerringly controlled by the laws of matter. One warming turning burning, the other, arbiter of menstrual cycles, impassive and dead. Two by name and nothing else. A pair mismatched in every way imaginable. But for the higher purpose of making the world go round.
