Title:
Thoughts of a night-owl
Thoughts of a night-owl
It’s midnight. By my bed a treasured radio plays Rachmaninov. Beside it, as his gentle music soars, lies a new exciting read with scimitars and turbans - Prophetic - on the cover. A book redolent of Persia. My mind , content and sleepy, loves those words - Rachmaninov - Persia. Iran has no such ring. It sits blunt in the mouth. No image comes. I turn out the light. What will I dream? I burrow into pillows, still listening to Rachmaninov. And sleep.
