Title:
Those High Places
He spoke of those high places once in a while. Short words. No detail. A facial tension told of re-lived camaraderie, courage; remembrance of missed friends.
In later years - when unaware tears would fall - deep tears - I knew to stay away. Comfort was no cure. I had no words to ease the essence of those moments.
He has joined them now, those comrades - airborne few forever soaring those high places, leaving an imprint on the sky that will stay forever.
