Title:
Tales From York River Bank
Giddy girls with feather boas Pot-bellied men woo look-like-whores A team of rowers carrying oars On the banks of river Ouse.
Jostling crowds spill over decking Several couples drunk and necking Come-hither looks and “ey-up” becking On the banks of river Ouse.
Mature strollers arm in arm Children biking blitz the calm Ducks and geese fly free from harm On the banks of river Ouse.
Shoppers seek sunny benches Already taken by tottering wenches The occasional drift of foul drain stenches On the banks of river Ouse.
The sun is shining, people laughing. Fun and bravado, speed-boats thrashing Pubs and restaurants all full and cashing On the banks of river Ouse.
