Today was a day
Of politeness
Of etiquette
Of pomp and ceremony
Of white linen napkins
Of polished silver tea-pots
Of fragrant leaf tea
Of fragile china cups
Of tiny finger sandwiches
Of scones and preserves
Of rich clotted cream
Of bright dainty fancies
And it was so refreshing!
