Title: A Whole Lot of Nothing

Another day. Another crisis.
They manufacture them here.
The kids are back and nothing works.
From the ancient PCs to the loos.
It's nothing new.
You'd think the summer break.
Would be the time to take stock?
Not for this lot.
They just lock the doors and go.
Why should I show
Any concern, I wonder?

A loud scream greets me.
As I enter my classroom.
A feeling of doom
Hits me hard.
It's on the cards this.
No respect for Miss
They just take the piss
This lot.
Why should I show
Any concern, I wonder?

My desk is covered in forms
I'm not alarmed
They think this is what education is for
That lot.
Tick a box and give a score.
It's all about standards...?
Don't make me laugh.
Why should I show
Any concern, I wonder?

If any of my pupils had written this
I'd mark it down
And frown
At their lack of structure
But it's all that I can muster
Why should I show
Any concern, I wonder?
