Title: Growing up

Falling, always falling.
Inevitable
Falling away from myself, into myself – desperate to preserve myself.

So suddenly,
every sense of reality, every hard edge
Evaporates – my head becomes light.

Catch me.

I can’t catch myself. I won’t catch myself –
I want to fall, and to hurt, to be found and to be fixed.
Always looking and waiting for someone to bring my missing piece.
Waiting for life to begin.

But life is not waiting for me.

Only I can complete my puzzle.

Reliance is not real,
time is.
Too many falls;
Too many scars.

Life must win.

When the room starts to spin,
The floor disappearing beneath my feet,
I won’t look to see who can catch me.

I won’t fall.
