Title: Miss Take

Said the wrong thing today, once too many.
Glanced around for support and didn't get any.
Took the moral high-ground and got it wrong.
Feeling pretty bad now and actually did all along.

Why do we do it? Say what we don't actually mean?
Why do we try and argue that the grass is never green?
I really can't defend myself. I think I just felt mean.
I know that I was foolish to try and intervene.

Perplexity and complexity, our thoughts can be obscure.
I've said a lot. It made no sense. I've acted immature.
It's no good asking for forgiveness nor for understanding.
I'm backing down. I'm opting out. I've been far too demanding.
