Profile for June Caldwell
When not eating Tesco vegetarian frankfurters or plotting ways to get that Victorian semi-D, I'm writing or trying to. Finishing an MA in Creative Writing @ Queens University Belfast part-time. I write for various newspapers in Ireland and I am writing a novel at the mo which is keeping me awake at night. Determined to have as much fun as possible before all-out global war ensues. I had a book out three years ago (In Love With A Mad Dog) about a terrorist's moll which was a pain in the arse to do. Now, I'm supposedly writing another non-fiction one (though I hate the idea & don't know why I ever suggested it). I'm bored with silly 'Oirish' journalism and am itching to write disturbing novels. However, I have plenty of interests aside from writing: white chocolate, for instance, or waves...baby's eyebrows, the night sky, Avoca, car-crash reality TV, politics, news, brainstorming, love, belly laughter, kinky fun, bizarre objects on eBay (unrelated to kinky fun), human interest stories, good novels. I'm a fan of Malbec and Alsace, kinder and tofu and I also really love aubergines. I plan on moving to the mountain-top region of Frigiliana sooner rather than later.
