Observations 7 “Every Day Man”
If you are the possessor of a sensitive nature you may not wish to read the last verse. However, I haven't used the fourth word in the third line of the last verse gratuitously - you should see Every Day Man and his Game Boy! I see you almost every day, I pass you in the street. We never seem to smile at all And our eyes they never meet. You sometimes look sad but cute, In a scruffy kind of way - Your ‘trackies’ full paint and holes! – Get a new pair on pay day? Your breath could use some hot mints Or strongly flavoured gum. It could kill at twenty paces – Girlfriend gone home to mum? I don’t think you wash too often. Well, autumn’s really kinda cold, To stand in the bathroom naked Would prove to be rather bold. You carry a JJB sports bag. I think it’s seen better days, Can’t imagine you at the gym, That belly knows better ways… Better ways to get pleasure – A Game Boy’s such great fun! – It stops you masturbating in public, In London that just “isn’t done”. © Bella Fortuna®, November 2007.
