Title:
“Blood of The Innocents”
Wondrous creature: a white bird soaring high. Silvered body, diamond-encrusted wings, Voice of an angel. Who would not wish to possess such magnificence? Sudden fall from grace. Man makes a dive, Cradles the creature – It’s still alive. Caresses its wings, Little bird sings. Man beats its head, Slowly, with a hammer until it’s dead. Its white wings tinted pink With the blood of the innocents. Man frowns and heaves a sigh: “Didn’t mean to make it die”. © Bella Fortuna®, 19 February 2009. All rights reserved.
