Title:
Salt of the Earth
We thank the men of Cheshire Who mine the Cheshire salt Their work has saved the nation From grinding to a halt We thank them for their fortitude In grafting night and day Mining salt to fill the trucks Which queue along the way
We praise them for their efforts Those doughty Cheshire men And hope such extreme weather Will not return again
