Profile for Ferdinand Salvador

I am an Artist, (see -   http://artvador.carbonmade.com/   ) Author, Poet, newspaper columnist, and innovator. In my other regular ‘more conventional professional’ role, I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist specializing in psychological maladjustment disorders that stem from deafness, hearing loss, and tinnitus. I also see patients with vertigo and balance disorders.

I was born in Caracas in 1958. I attended medical school in USA and migrated to UK in the early 80s to train as a surgeon specializing in ear microsurgery and facial cosmetic surgery. After extensive training I worked in the private health sector in Venezuela over the early 90s. I resettled in the UK in 1996 and found my career progression blocked in the NHS. To overcome the hurdle to reach NHS Consultant status I ‘gave up the scalpel’ and retrained in Clinical Psychology.     

Most of my paintings are in specialist collections. I have written most of my work, in my mother tongue, and a few minority languages. I am translating my work into English and I am also writing some original work in English.
