10/09/09 - We were informed today, that sady, John Henry Foley died, in hospital, on 30th August 2009.

My name is John, I am 45 years old, and live  In Acocks Green Birmingham.

I write mainly poetry, which I have been writing now for about 20 years.  I also write short stories, although I haven't had any of them published as yet

It all started when I was in hospital, and feeling rather worse for the wear, I decided to compose one or two little "ditties", mainly on the back of get well cards. It all started from there really.

I am a member of my local writers group, and have had poems published in several magazines and anthologies,, including Forward Press and Anchor books., as well as many on-line poetry sites.

I have entered a few competitions, but with no luck as yet. Though, my motto is "never give up trying".

I did start to run my own web page a couple of years ago, but ran into difficulties. So I turned to trying to get published on-line. So far, my poems have appeared on several poetry sites.
