Profile for Emma Bryant

I live and work in Sheffield - it's a great city! I have written a mixture of short stories, travel writing and poetry in the last two or three years.  Writing has always been a large part of my life; living abroad as a teenager meant reams of letters home and later, back in the UK, I was a member of my school creative writing group.  I continued to write extensively throughout my university life as an undergraduate and postgraduate music student though this was academic writing rather than the creative variety.  Words are vital in my current job which involves copywriting and much email communication with a wide variety of people.  I have come back to creative writing more seriously in the last couple of years. Though I don't have a great deal of spare time and solitude, I enjoy this creative pastime very much when I find time to pursue it. I enjoy using the power of words to express, but would love to feel more able to say want I want to in a better way, so criticism is most welcome.  Many thanks to everyone who has left feedback on my work recently.
